Home > About us
The Toll Community Centre is owned by the people of Burntisland and run on behalf of the community by a volunteer Management Committee.
Our History
The Toll Community Centre has been a central part of life in Burntisland since the mid-1970s. The Centre grew out of Youth Clubs Burntisland, and activities for children and young people continue to be at the heart of what we do today. For generations, the Centre has provided a welcoming space where people can meet, learn new skills and connect with their local community.
Community Ownership
The Centre is owned by the people of Burntisland and is managed on behalf of the community by a dedicated volunteer Management Committee. Everything we do is focused on supporting local people and creating opportunities for everyone to take part.
Who uses the Centre
The Toll Community Centre is a busy, lively place used by a wide range of groups and organisations. We are proud to be home to:
- Burntisland Playgroup
- Burntisland Out of School Service
Alongside these, many local clubs, community groups and activities make regular use of our rooms and facilities.
How we are funded
The Toll Community Centre is a registered Scottish charity.
We receive some funding from Fife Council, but most of our running costs are covered through:
- Income from room and hall rentals
- Community fundraising
- Support from local users and organisations
This support helps us keep the Centre open, affordable and available for everyone in the community.
Getting involved
The Centre relies on the enthusiasm and support of local people. If you would like to find out more, get involved, or use the Centre for your own group or activity, we’d love to hear from you. Visit our Contact page for full details on how to get in touch.
